so let's start
When cutting a pencil skirt, you will first fold your fabric as shown. To determine how many inches to fold, count the entire hips measurements, divide that number by four, and then add three or two and a half inches for the skirt allowance.
Then, measure from the waist line to the knee line, which is 18 inches, and mark and draw a line at the point shown in the image, and then measure from the waist line to the entire length of the skirt, mark with chalk, and add two inches, as shown in the image.
What I want to do now is draw out the shape of the skirt after we have drawn all these lines in general, including the waist line, the hip line, the knee line, and the original length of the skirt.
The waist is 32 inches for the waistline. If the waist of the skirt is 32, we will divide it by 4 to get 8, then we will measure 8 inches in the waist line, then we will add an allowance of two and a half inches,
then we will mark the point with the chalk we added two and a half inches because of skirt dart and we added a little extra allowance maybe in the future if you want to increase the size.
We will also do the same for the hips, if the hips are 38, then we will divide it into four, it will give us nine and a half inches, then we will measure nine and a half inches at the hip line, then we will also add two and a half inches of allowance and mark the point.
And then for the knee line,
we will measure the whole of that we got at the waist line, then we will
come and measure it at the knee line, then we will reduce it by one, then it
will give us the shape that we want for the skirt, and we will also mark the point with chalk.
Following that, we will measure what we put on the knee line, and then I will measure it on the bottom line, and the shape from the knee to the bottom line will be straight.
In order to connect this marking you have already made, i will now use chalk to draw the pencil skirt shape as shown below.
After that, I'll use scissors to cut the pencil skirt shape as shown, and this is how the front pattern of the pencil skirt, or straight skirt as it's also known, will look.
Now we will take out the back part of the skirt, but if you want, you can take out the front and back at the same time, but because we want to explain everything to you in detail, I cut the front and back parts separately. ,if you understand how to cut them separately then you can take them out together.

Let's continue
I'll now fold the fabric as shown in the picture to show you how to cut the back portion. I sliced it in the center and left a space for the zip and the slit, it measures two inches long. According to the length of the skirt, the slit length can be 20, 23, or 25 inches depending on how the skirt owner wants it.
Then from the waist to the
hip curve nine inches, draw a shape as you can see in the picture and then cut
it like this.
